Start Menu XP is a program that will replace the Windows-7-style list with an XP-like dropdown menu. The program also offers other features that will help you to find and launch your installed programs faster than usual. When run, the program will not show you a list of commands; it will simply change the way you will see the "All Programs" list in Windows 7. Where you usually see a sliding list, you will have a two- or three-column list that will show you all the installed programs. You will see folders first, and then the programs (these are usually shown first in Windows 7).
By clicking on a folder, you can open it in a new column. You will not be able to delete an entry from this list (or access any other function by using the right mouse button, for that matter). The only command available is "Manage Groups", which is an entry to the "Tidy Start Menu" subprogram, a feature that is only available in the Pro version. If you try to access it, a window will appear offering you to acquire this version. Tidy Start will allow you to group programs in order to save space in the list.
